Adjusting ideas about children’s health care

Your child may have digestive trouble — like constipation, reflux or colic. Perhaps asthma or allergies make your little one irritable.

Or maybe you’ve noticed that your baby just isn’t eating or sleeping as well as you would like. You could talk to your pediatrician or consult a baby care book.

But there’s another option: pediatric chiropractic care.

Although it’s not the first option on many parents’ minds, chiropractic care for infants and children is an important facet of health and wellness for kids starting at the youngest ages, said chiropractors locally and at a national organization.

Chiropractors can help children’s posture as they grow, straightening out the damage done by tumbles and roughhousing, heavy backpacks and misaligned spines.

But they can also pitch in as part of a panoply of care to help handle common childhood health concerns.

Dr. T. Patrick O’Neill, owner of O’Neill Chiropractic in Buffalo, said he has cared for many babies and children. Minor adjustments to kids’ backs and necks can make enormous differences, he said, in eating, sleeping, digestion, respiratory problems —and even pesky autoimmune issues like ear infections.

“With an adjustment, while the tears are still wet on their cheeks [from ear pain], they hop off their chairs and say, ‘OK, I’m better,’” said O’Neill. “We call them the daily miracles.”

O’Neill, in practice on Potomac Avenue in the city, has used chiropractic care to help his own three children — including a daughter with Down syndrome—navigate childhood in a healthy manner.

Now, a good part of his practice is made up of children—some of them infants in arms—who are brought in by parents who have seen the difference small adjustments to the neck and spine can make to their child’s wellness.

“One of the ways parents realize the value of this is when they look back and realize they’ve missed no school days,” O’Neill said.

With good word of mouth, he said with a laugh: “On Saturdays, this place looks like a day care center—there are more patients on the floor than on the table.”

At the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, based in Media, Pa., executive director Dr. Jeanne Ohm said there are currently 3,000 chiropractors affiliated with the organization. More chiropractors take care of children but are unaffiliated, so the group of chiropractors for children is actually much larger, she said.

Chiropractic care for children, which has been recommended since at least 1910 by chiropractors, is being adopted by more and more parents as a way of keeping their kids well in a non-intrusive fashion, Ohm said.

“Parents are becoming aware that the typical allopathic model of drugs for

symptoms is not effective — and may cause more harm,” said Ohm, the mother of six children and a chiropractor for 30 years. “Parents are becoming more aware and more conscious — they don’t want to be just treating their child with a chemical.”

At O’Neill’s office in Buffalo, chiropractic care for children works a little differently than for adults.

In a room with a play table and dollhouse, he might look over and adjust a small patient while he or she is sitting down, playing. For babies, he might adjust the baby on the mother’s lap.

“With an infant, they’re rarely on the table,” O’Neill said. “I’ve adjusted babies while they’re on their mothers’ laps, or while they’re nursing. Some kids can’t get in the room — some kids get adjusted out in the waiting room.”

Chiropractic care can help with respiratory issues like asthma and allergies, digestive problems ranging from colic to constipation, acid reflux, and autoimmune problems like ear infections, as well as many other health issues, O’Neill said.

Ohm said that the changes that can be made to a child’s wellness by chiropractic care continue to amaze her.

“It blows my mind all the time,” she said. “Just a few of these very light adjustments, taking pressure off the nervous system, can make tremendous changes.”

Even if your child is healthy at the moment, said O’Neill, you can take a look at your child’s frame to see if there is any misalignment that might cause posture problems or pain.

When your child is undressed, check for:

• Asymmetry of posture or movement.

• A reluctance or inability to turn the head fully in both directions.

• Shoulders and hips at different heights, rather than the same height.

• Incorrect position of the feet when the child is standing still.

• Asymmetrical muscle tone in the shoulders and back.

Finding a pediatric chiropractor can be tricky. Not every chiropractor works with young children. But some specialists do practice in the Western New York area, so ask your general chiropractor for a recommendation or check out the Web site of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association for help in finding a practitioner: .

Nevada Laws on Vaccination Exemptions

NRS 392.437 Immunization of pupils: Exemption if prohibited by religious belief. A public school shall not refuse to enroll a child as a pupil because the child has not been immunized pursuant to NRS 392.435 if the parents or guardian of the child has submitted to the board of trustees of the school district or the governing body of a charter school in which the child has been accepted for enrollment a written statement indicating that their religious belief prohibits immunization of such child or ward.

NRS 392.439 Immunization of pupils: Exemption if prevented by medical condition. If the medical condition of a child will not permit the child to be immunized to the extent required by NRS 392.435 and a written statement of this fact is signed by a licensed physician and by the parents or guardian of the child, the board of trustees of the school district or governing body of the charter school in which the child has been accepted for enrollment shall exempt the child from all or part of the provisions of NRS 392.435, as the case may be, for enrollment purposes.

In 1970, Robert Mendelsohn, M.D., my pediatrics professor and godfather to my six children, believed in the value of vaccinations. After 1970, he began to question the general value of mass immunization. In 1971, he stopped administering the Measles, Mumps, Rubella Vaccine (MMR), by 1973, he gave up on the Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus Vaccine (DPT) and by 1976 he gave up on the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV). By 1989 Dr. Mendelsohn no longer recommended any vaccines.

More and more families, after carefully weighing the evidence, are deciding not to vaccinate their children. My goal is for you to make an educated decision.

I want to raise doubt in your mind as to the safety, efficacy and moral issues of vaccines. My goal is for you to do further research into all of the vaccines, use libraries, bookstores, our internet web site ( and ask questions. Only after fully weighing the evidence can you make an informed decision. An informed consumer is a wise consumer. This journey is a beginning of better understanding the issues surrounding childhood vaccinations.

The following information was learned over the many years that I was a student of Dr. Mendelsohn. While a practicing physician, I was honored to be with Dr. Mendelsohn when he gave lectures to medical societies and university classes on his philosophy of medicine. We discussed these issues many times over the years. He later compiled much of this information into his books Confessions of a Medical Heretic and How To Raise A Healthy Child... Immunization Against Disease:

A medical time bomb?

The greatest threat of childhood diseases lies in the dangerous and ineffectual efforts made to prevent them through mass immunization.

...Doctors, not politicians, have successfully lobbied for laws that force parents to immunize their children as a prerequisite for admission to school.

...They [doctors] should be nervous, because in a recent Chicago case a child damaged by a pertussis inoculation received a $5.5 million settlement award. If your doctor is in that state of mind, exploit his fear, because your child's health is at stake.

Although I administered them myself during my early years of practice, I have become a steadfast opponent of mass inoculations because of the myriad hazards they present....

Here Is the Core of My Concern

1. There is no convincing scientific evidence that mass inoculations can be credited with eliminating any childhood disease....

2. It is commonly believed that the Salk vaccine was responsible for halting the polio epidemics that plagued American children in the 1940's and 1950's. If so, why did the epidemics also end in Europe, where polio vaccine was not so extensively used?...

3. There are significant risks associated with every immunization and numerous contraindications that may make it dangerous for the shots to be given to your child....

4. While the myriad short-term hazards of most immunizations are known (but rarely explained), no one knows the long-term consequences of injecting foreign proteins into the body of your child. Even more shocking is the fact that no one is making any structured effort to find out.

5. There is a growing suspicion that immuniza-tion against relatively harmless childhood diseases may be responsible for the dramatic increase in autoimmune diseases since mass inoculations were introduced. These are fearful diseases such as cancer, leukemia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Lou Gehrig's disease, lupus and the Guillain-Barré syndrome....

...As a parent, only you can decide whether to reject immunizations or risk accepting them for your child. Let me urge you, though—before your child is immunized—to arm yourself with the facts about the potential risks and benefits and demand that your pediatrician defend the immunizations that he recommends.

What's in a vaccine?

Vaccines contain many ingredients of which the public is not aware. These are just some of the ingredients used to make a vaccine:

* Ethylene glycol - antifreeze

* Phenol - also known as carbolic acid. This is used as a disinfectant, dye.

* Formaldehyde - a known cancer causing agent

*Aluminum - which is associated with Alzheimer’s disease and seizures also cancer producing in laboratory mice. It is used as an additive to promote antibody response.

* Thimerosal - a mercury disinfectant/ preservative. It can result in brain injury and autoimmune disease.

* Neomycin, Streptomycin - antibiotics which have caused allergic reaction in some people.

These vaccines are also grown on and strained thru animal or human tissue such as monkey kidney tissue, chicken embryo, embryonic guinea pig cells, calf serum, human diploid cells (the dissected organs of aborted fetuses as in the case of rubella, hepatitis A, and chicken pox vaccines)

The problem with using animal cells is that during serial passage of the virus thru the animal cells, animal RNA and DNA can be transferred from one host to another. Undetected animal viruses may slip past quality control testing procedures, as happened during the years 1955 thru 1961. The polio vaccine, which was grown on the kidney of the Green African monkey (simian), was contaminated with SV40 (simian virus #40 - the 40th discovered) which differs from the other 39 because it has oncogenic (cancer causing) properties. What other viruses could be slipping by from animal tissue, administered through vaccinations, that we don't know of?

If You Want to Age Gracefully, Don't Eat This

Death is surely inevitable, but I do believe you can live far longer than the average life expectancy tables (1) would predict, which in the U.S. is about 78. Genetics may play a role, but it is NOT the final determining factor for whether you'll live a long healthy life.

Barring an accident, your lifestyle has everything to do with your longevity.

It's already been established that diet can override genetic predispositions for disease (2), so don't fall into the trap of believing your health and longevity is somehow inescapably tied to what's polluting your gene pool.

The Leading Cause of Premature Aging and Death

Increased insulin and leptin receptor resistance (3) has clearly become the leading cause of premature aging and death. This results from two primary conditions: too much sugar and processed foods, combined with insufficient exercise.

Interestingly, controlling these two factors will likely eliminate more than 90 percent of the following medical conditions:

• High blood pressure
• Obesity
• Diabetes
• High cholesterol

Of all the molecules capable of inflicting damage to your body, probably the most damaging are sugar molecules. Fructose in particular is an extremely potent pro-inflammatory agent that accelerates aging.

Today's excessive sugar consumption is mostly an artifact of the postindustrial agricultural revolution.

More than 30 years ago, scientists learned how to cheaply produce sugar from corn, and now it is loaded into nearly all processed foods and has become the number one source of calories in most developed countries.

Fructose is a major contributor to:

• Insulin resistance and obesity
• Elevated blood pressure (4)
• Elevated triglycerides and elevated LDL (5)
• Cardiovascular disease (6), liver disease, cancer, arthritis and even gout

How Fructose Accelerates Aging

Fructose adversely affects your body in a number of ways, but one of the mechanisms that causes significant damage is glycation, a process by which the sugar bonds with proteins and forms so-called advanced glycation end products, or AGEs. It's a fitting acronym because--along with oxidation--it's one of the major molecular mechanisms whereby damage accrues in your body, which leads to disease, aging and eventually death.

When sugar glycates, it creates inflammation, which activates your immune system in a defensive maneuver. Macrophages are scavenger cells that are part of your immune defense, and as such they have special receptors for AGEs, aptly called RAGEs (think: raging inflammation). These RAGEs bind to the AGEs and get rid of them.

Unfortunately, this process can leave its fair share of battle scars.

Inside your arteries, for example, the scar tissue created from this process is called plaque. This process underlies the strong connection between diabetes and heart disease.

As a standard recommendation, I strongly recommend keeping your TOTAL fructose consumption below 25 grams per day.

However, most people would be wise to limit their fructose to 15 grams or less, particularly if you have elevated uric acid levels, which can be used as a predictor for fructose toxicity. (For more information on the fructose/uric acid connection, please see this recent article.)

This includes keeping track of your fructose intake from whole fruits. For a helpful chart showing the fructose content of many common fruits, please see this link. I recommend this lower level simply because if you consume processed foods or sweet beverages at all, you're virtually guaranteed to consume "hidden" sources of fructose.

Read this if you believe fruit is healthy and you can consume unlimited amounts:

Many people who eat large amounts of fruit are not convinced that fruit can be dangerous. However many fruits have a large amount of fructose that can worsen insulin resistance if you consume too much of it. It is also important to realize that 80 percent of Americans have diseases resulting from insulin resistance which are listed at the beginning of this article.

If you have one of these conditions you would be wise to limit your total grams of daily fructose to 15 grams per day until you resolve the insulin resistance. If you are still unconvinced you can measure your blood uric acid level and it will typically be greater than 5.5 if you are eating too much fructose.

New research has shown that uric acid is a far more accurate predictor of heart disease than your total cholesterol level and the more it is higher than 5.5 it is, the greater your risk. If your uric acid is between 3 and 5 than you do not need to be concerned about your current fructose intake, as you likely have a metabolism that can adjust for it and not cause you harm.

Fresh fruit is nearly always preferred to fruit juices as the processing destroys many of the nutrients in the fruit and many commercial fruit juices are also highly adulterated or deceptively labeled.

Additionally it is important to understand that most commercial fruit juices should be avoided as fruit juice typically has large amounts of methanol, which is wood alcohol, and a metabolic poison. Often the methanol is bound to pectin and when you consume fresh fruits the methanol passes through your body and causes you no harm. However, after the fruit is processed into juice and put into containers, the methanol gradually dissociates from the pectin and dissolves in the juice.

The longer the fruit juice is in the container, or the more heat it is exposed to, the more methanol that is released into the juice.

Next, in order to better understand the cause of aging, you need to become familiar with some nasty little compounds called "free radicals."

Free Radicals on a Mission to Damage Your DNA

The most widely accepted idea for life extension is the free radical theory, which says that as you age, you begin to "self destruct," courtesy of free radicals. Free radicals are aggressive chemical compounds, created as a byproduct of your natural metabolism, that damage your DNA.

Poor lifestyle choices (7) such as smoking, consuming processed foods laden with trans fats and other harmful chemical additives, along with pesticide and other chemical residue, further add to your free radical burden.

With time, your DNA eventually becomes damaged beyond your body's ability to repair it; and once your biological processes fail, you die.

Antioxidants continually combat these free radicals--which is why a diet high in natural antioxidants is so important for your health and longevity. Antioxidants are abundant in a number of foods, and your BEST source of high quality antioxidants is fresh, raw organic vegetables and fruits (especially berries).

To Supplement, or Not to Supplement

I have never been a fan of taking fistfuls of supplements in lieu of altering your diet to get the nutrients you need. However, supplementation can sometimes be useful.

There are three nutrients that have special importance with respect to aging:
1. Resveratrol
2. Coenzyme Q10
3. Glutathione (GSH)

Resveratrol is one antioxidant that I often recommend as a supplement.

Sometimes referred to as a "fountain of youth" nutrient, resveratrol appears to be particularly potent (8) for extending lifespan. It is unique among antioxidants because it can cross the blood-brain barrier to help protect your brain and nervous system.

Another important but often overlooked antioxidant is coenzyme Q-10--but more specifically the reduced version, called ubiquinol.

Your liver produces CoQ10, which is actually an essential nutrient for health and longevity because it provides energy to every single cell in your body. Unfortunately, after age 25, your natural levels of this critical compound begin to decline, which is why I personally take ubiquinol every day.

CoQ10 is also an absolute necessity if you're on statin drugs as they can quickly deplete your body of this vital antioxidant. This is partly why statins are so harmful to your heart.

Glutathione is another important and underutilized antioxidant. Interestingly, increased glutathione levels may actually play a role in stopping telomere (9) shortening, which is one of the most exciting anti-aging discoveries in recent years.

Glutathione is one nutrient I believe you can optimize with proper diet, so it is probably unnecessary to supplement. If you are recovering from a serious illness, you certainly could consider supplementation.

I have reservations about most glutathione supplements, in general.

You can obtain it from raw organic milk, free-range animal foods and eggs. But probably your best source of glutathione (10) is a high quality whey protein.

If you want to use a whey product, realize there are vast differences among them. Many whey proteins on the market are highly processed and contain a number of undesirable additives. Make sure your whey protein is derived from grass-fed cows and is very carefully processed to preserve the fragile amino acid precursors.

I am so impressed by the research on telomeres and glutathione that I take a high quality organic grass fed whey protein called Miracle Whey protein every morning, and a second dose before my twice-weekly strength training sessions.

Learning from Those Who've Lived the Longest

Longevity researchers (11) have long searched for the magic common denominators that might explain the extended life spans of centenarians.

What they've found is the people who've lived the longest tend to eat large amounts of whole unprocessed minimally cooked plants and live in areas that promote regular physical activity, such as daily walking. They also tend to have effective strategies for coping with the inevitable stresses of life, such as prayer, meditation and strong social networks.

In fact, being able to effectively cope with stress, it turns out, is one of the MAJOR common denominators for people who live long, robust lives.

One of the proposed reasons for this strong link is that stress, just like fructose, promotes inflammation in your body.

Indeed, most of the research indicates that longevity hinges on preventing chronic inflammation. Avoiding sugar/fructose while consuming antioxidant-rich whole foods, together with physical exercise and stress reduction, will do just that.

Adopt the Anti-Aging Lifestyle

Of all the healthy lifestyle strategies I know of that can have a significant impact on your longevity, normalizing your insulin and leptin levels is probably the most important. And that means modifying your diet to avoid excessive amounts of fructose, grains and other pro-inflammatory ingredients like trans fats.

Here are the rest of my top "anti-aging" recommendations:

1.Learn how to effectively cope with stress. As discussed earlier, stress has a direct impact on inflammation, which in turn underlies many of the chronic diseases that kill people prematurely every day. Therefore, developing effective coping mechanisms is a great strategy for increasing your longevity.

Meditation, prayer, physical activity and exercise are all viable options that can help you maintain emotional and mental equilibrium. I also strongly believe in using energy psychology tools such as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to address deeper, oftentimes hidden emotional scars.

2.Eat a healthful diet based on your nutritional type. My nutrition plan should be your first step. This is so important that I now offer the full nutritional typing program for FREE (12).

3. Optimize your vitamin D levels (13) . This is another very powerful and inexpensive intervention that can have profound benefits to your health. You can either optimize your levels by carefully managed direct sun exposure, or use an oral supplement (typically 5-10,000 units of vitamin D3 for most adults).

4.Eat plenty of animal-based omega-3 fat (14) . Correcting the ratio of omega-3 to healthful omega-6 fats is a strong factor in helping people live longer. This typically means increasing your intake of animal based omega-3 fats, such as krill oil, while decreasing your intake of damaged omega-6 fats (think trans fats).

I do not, however, recommend the new prescription-strength fish oil medication, sold under the name Lovaza (15) . Don't be fooled by their "all natural" PR campaign. This is actually a drug to treat very high triglyceride levels.

As with most other drugs, Lovaza comes with potentially dangerous side effects that you would not experience with a natural fish oil or krill oil supplement. Side effects include flu-like symptoms, infections, back pain, skin rashes, upset stomach, taste changes, digestive issues, chest pain, migraines and respiratory problems.

Additionally, new research strongly suggests that 500 mg of krill oil is more potent and far less expensive.

5. Get your antioxidants from real foods. Good sources include blueberries, cranberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, cherries and most intensely pigmented vegetables.

6. Use coconut oil(15) . Another excellent anti-aging food is coconut oil, known to reduce your risk of heart disease and lower your cholesterol, among other things. In fact, it's doubly beneficial because it can be both eaten and applied directly to your skin. Coconut oil can be used in place of other oils for most of your cooking needs.

7. Get your resveratrol naturally. Resveratrol is one of the forerunners in the anti-aging pill race, but more than likely, by the time they've manipulated it into a synthetic pill (like the fish oil discussed above), it won't be healthy for you.

Although resveratrol is found in red wine, I can't recommend drinking wine regularly, in the hope of extending your life because alcohol is a neurotoxin that can poison your brain and harm your body's delicate hormonal balance. Instead, get your resveratrol from natural sources, such as whole grape skins and seeds, raspberries, and mulberries.

8. Exercise regularly, and correctly. Studies repeatedly show that regular, moderate-to-vigorous exercise can help prevent or delay the onset of hypertension, obesity, heart disease, osteoporosis and the falls that lead to hip fractures.

Although a lifetime of regular exercise is ideal, it's never too late to start. It's been shown that even individuals in their 70s can substantially increase both strength and endurance with exercise.

I'm very excited about the research showing how high-intensity interval training can increase longevity as this specific style of training (Peak 8) promotes human growth hormone production--yet another aspect of the longevity puzzle.

9. Avoid as many chemicals, toxins, and pollutants as possible (17). This includes tossing out your toxic household cleaners, soaps, personal hygiene products, air fresheners, bug sprays, lawn pesticides and insecticides, just to name a few, and replacing them with non-toxic alternatives.

10. Avoid pharmaceutical drugs. Pharmaceutical drugs kill thousands of people prematurely every year--they are now the largest cause of fatal drug overdoses (18). If you adhere to a healthful lifestyle, you are less likely to "need" drugs since a healthy immune system will protect you from chronic disease.

Incorporating these simple guidelines will help set you squarely on the path to optimal health and give you the best shot at living a long, happy life.

1. Cardio is one of the best types of exercise. Cardio exercise, such as jogging, is good for slow twitch muscle fibers but does nothing for fast twitch muscle fibers. Alternative: Evidence suggests that interval training increases the production of anti-aging hormones and fat metabolism. To interval train, alternate between exercising at your maximum heart rate for 30 seconds followed by 90 seconds of rest. Do this for 20 minutes. Example: Sprint, walk fast, or do jumping jacks for 30 seconds followed by 90 seconds of walking. Note: Maximum heart rate = 220 - your age.

2. Vaccines are safe, effective, and prevent disease.
Vaccines contain harmful ingredients such as formaldehyde, aluminum, detergents, and mercury, can cause the ery diseases they are meant to prevent, and weaken the body's natural immune defenses. Alternative: Gain knowledge and understand reasons for not vaccinating before making a decision. Also, remember that our bodies work on a use it or lose it basis. If we do not challenge our muscles they become weak. If we do not challenge our immune system by allowing it to fight disease itself, it will also weaken and leave us susceptible to developing more serious disease later in life. 3. Fluoride in water helps prevent cavities.
While topical use of fluoride may have some benefits, studies show that, when swallowed, it does not decrease cavity occurrence and can have negative consequences on thyroid health and IQ. Alternative: Do not buy water with added fluoride and consider switching to a non-fluoride toothpaste.

4. Genetically modified crops are safe.
Since the introduction of genetically modified foods, primarily corn and soy, food allergies, cholesterol and insulin regulation problems, and gastrointestinal disease have increased significantly. Alternative: Eat natural, locally grown, in season foods whenever possible.

5. Sun causes skin cancer. Believe it or not, the incidence of skin cancer has increased along with the increase of sun avoidance and sunscreen usage. In addition, most sunscreens contain harmful chemicals. Alternative: While there are many variables such as where you live, time of year, and color of your skin, most people should be exposed to 30 minutes of sunlight over most of their body everyday without sunscreen. This exposure produces vitamin D which improves immune function and protects the body from cancer. If you do not get adequate sun exposure, take a minimum of 800 IU of vitamin D daily.

6. Artificial sweeteners are safe, well tested, and promote weight loss. Studies show that people who consume non-caloric artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame and sucralose in diet soda and food, gain more weight than people who consume caloric sweeteners. In addition, artificial sweeteners are neurotoxic chemicals that can cause a variety pain, vision, and migraine poblems. Alternative: Gradually decrease the use of all sweeteners. 7. Milk does a body good. Conventional milk contains growth hormones and antibiotics, and when pasterized, loses vital enzymes and nutrients. Pasteurized, homogenized milk has been linked to allergy, immune, and digestive problems. Alternative: Limit dairy intake, consume organic dark leafy green produce to acquire adequate nutrition and, where available, drink raw organic milk and other raw organic dairy products from grass fed animals.

My take on To Vaccinate or Not To Vaccinate... That is the Question

As a doctor myself, I agree that People needs options. People need 100% of the information (Pros and Cons) before making a decision about their health or the health of their children. I do not agree with vaccination, especially the young little babies that do not have an immune system to begin with.

I do understand that some diseases are very life threatening (most of them NOT in circulation anymore). When it comes to life threatening issues, one must always take the less of the two evils.

I will tell everyone, Make sure you look at all options, make sure you get all information and make the best choice with the knowledge at hand. Just remember, you and your family will have to live with the outcomes of that choice. Whether the outcomes are positive or negative.

Not everyone will have severe reactions to vaccines, well let me clarify that: Not everyone will initially have severe reactions to vaccines. Research has been and will continue to be preformed as to the effectiveness of vaccine and the reactions it may or may not cause in one's lifetime. One condition not really talked about is the increase in autoimmune diseases here in the states. I believe with the research I have seen, is largely related to the increase in vaccines we are trying to be forced into. The more drugs and vaccines we will develop as a society, the worst our healths will become. Take a look at the research, we are currently 37 in health according to WHO. If we had the right solutions, our health would not be dropping.

For the most part more drugs are not the problem, but they are not the solution either.

I of course can go on for a while talking on this subject. So I will just close for now and state that I WILL NOT be vaccinating my daughter and future children. Frankly there is no reason, other then to put more money into the hands of doctors, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies. Not the mention the life long consequences it may have...

1st Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells Do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
2nd Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.
3rd When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.
4th When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies . These could be due to genetic , environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
5th To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies , changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system
6th Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly -growing cancer cells and then destroys rapidly -growing healthy cells in the bone marrow , gastro -intestinal tract etc , and can cause organ damage, like liver , kidneys , heart, lungs etc.
7th Radiation while destroying cancer cells , therefore burns, scars and damages healthy cells , tissues and organs.
8th Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation Thurs not result in more tumor destruction.
9th When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed , hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
10th Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can thus cause cancer cells to spread to other sites .
11th An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
a. Sugar is a cancer- feeder.
By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet , Equal, Spoonful , etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.
b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus , especially in the gastro - intestinal tract . Cancer feeds on mucus . By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved .
c. Cancer cells thrive acid environment in an.
A meat -based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish , and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat thus contains livestock antibiotics , growth hormones and parasites , which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice , whole grains , seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20 % can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells .. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts ) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day . Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).
e. Avoid coffee , tea, and chocolate , which have high caffeine.
Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer -fighting properties. Water -best to drink purified water, or filtered , to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic , avoid it.
12th Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.
13th Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and Allows the body 's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer , especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.
Do not freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently , Dr. Edward Fujimoto , Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital was on a TV program to explain this health hazard He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat , high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead , he recommends using glass, such as Corning ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same dioxin results, only without the. such things as TV dinners Sun , instant ramen and soups , etc. , should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper is not bad but you do not know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass , Corning ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper . The dioxin problem is one of the reasons. Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave . As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

We're in the middle of a raging epidemic affecting America's youth - the obesity epidemic. The number of American adolescents who are obese increased 300% in the last 40 years.

This is a problem that can potentially affect every family. The good news is that in almost all cases, obesity is a lifestyle disorder. In other words, children become obese because of behaviors learned from their friends and their parents.

Healthy eating and regular exercise are the two critically important steps to take to help ensure your child retains an appropriate weight. With respect to healthy eating -

•Eliminate all trans fats from your children's diet - this includes almost all fast foods
•Cut down on sugary drinks
•Serve at least five portions of fresh fruits and vegetables every day
•Serve complex carbohydrates such as whole grains
•Serve lean meat, fish, and poultry
•Count calories!
Children need at least an hour of physical activity every day. This includes outdoor play, sports, and calisthenics. Make sure your kids are getting enough exercise!

Kids can get checked, too. Do kids need regular blood pressure check-ups or regular tests of their blood glucose levels? Probably not - these simple procedures can be done during a child's annual physical. But kids are very active and more frequent chiropractic check-ups are usually a good idea.
